Dragon Raja is a Chinese donghua series produced by Tencent and animated by Studio GARDEN. It is based on the novel series of the same name written by Jiang Nan. The first three episodes were released on August 19, 2022 on the QQ VIP streaming service.
The show was announced with an animated concept preview in August 8, 2020[1]. A second preview was released on August 8, 2021[2] followed by weekly image posts of character designs, behind-the-scenes videos, clips and commemorative illustrations[3] as well as a third teaser[4].
A main trailer was released on June 29[5] along with the official release date, fans were invited to participate for the possibility of attending an early premiere on July 17.
The "ultimate trailer" featured scenes from episodes 1 to 9 and was released on August 8.[6] In 2023, a deal was reached with Aniplex to release the first season internationally, it premiered in Japan with the title Ryuzoku: The Blazing Dawn (竜族: The Blazing Dawn) on April 6th, 2024.
A second season was confirmed in November 25, 2022. A motion poster was shown during Tencent's animation showcase on August 8, 2023, featuring Chu Zihang, Lu Mingfei and Xia Mi on a subway train.
The first trailer for season 2 was released on August 10th, featuring Chu Zihang's backstory and a first look at Odin. 2025 was confirmed as the release year.

Season 1[]
The first season was released on August 19, 2022 on QQ VIP after a series of premiere events in China. It consists of 17 episodes and adapts the first novel in the series.
Previews for the first 8 episodes were made available before the season premiere, the original soundtrack by Kohta Yamamoto was released on August 19.
The season's official plot synopsis reads: Lu Mingfei is a typical high school kid getting ready to graduate. That is, until he receives an acceptance letter from Cassell College, a school he didn’t even apply to. Upon arrival, Lu learns that the school’s mission is simple: protect humanity from dragons. Caught in the midst of the age-old conflict, Lu soon uncovers the grim truth behind humanity’s war against the dragon race.
